2010 Touch of Class Show Choir Competition

Another successful weekend for the Nepo Productions crew. This time we were at Benton Community High School for their Touch of Class show choir competition. Schools from Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska traveled to Van Horne Iowa to compete in the competition. A total of 20 show choirs performed plus the three exhibition performances by Benton Community’s own Illusions, Jubilation, Inc., and Celebration Co.

Nepo Productions had 5 crew members on hand to operate the 5 cameras, graphics, and mixing. All of which was fed live throughout the school and into the gym via 2 huge projection screens. John Hayden, director of Benton Community Vocal Music department, suggested adding text polling between the performances. It went over very well! We projected a feed from a laptop ran by a student that had questions and polls that audience members could text their answers to. Fans could see their results in real time on the big screens in the gym.

  • 1st Runner up – Xavier Xhilaration
  • 2nd Runner up – Iowa City West Good Time Company
  • 3rd Runner up – Sioux City East Headliners
  • 4th Runner up – Lincoln Southwest Resonance
  • 5th Runner up – Anamosa Sadie Street Singers
