As I reported last week, Nepo Productions was blown away by Shawndell Young’s performance at the Kennedy Raise the Roof Show Choir Competition. Well, we got to see him and the rest of McKinley’s Classic Edition at the Xavier Xtravaganza Show Choir Competition the next weekend. And Shawndell seemed to be getting better!!

Nepo Productions made a short move down 42nd St from Kennedy High School last weekend to Xavier High School to provide video production for the 2010 Xavier Xtravaganza Show Choir Competition.
Nepo Productions spent another weekend capturing great show choir performances from groups around the midwest. This last weekend found us at Kennedy’s 6th annual Raise the Roof Show Choir Invitational where Cedar Rapids Washington Momentum edged out Urbandale Studio 2010 for Grand Champion.
Alli Mauzey, who recently starred as Glinda in Wicked on Broadway, was a member of the judging panel at Benton Community’s “Touch of Class” show choir competition. We at Nepo Productions were excited to find out the Alli was going to perform the song Popular from Wicked before the Finals started. We decided to share the clip with you here!
Nepo Productions spent the weekend in Pella for the 2010 Dutch Masters Show Choir Invitational. We had a crew of seven on hand for the event which expanded from a single day competition last year to two days this year. Nepo Productions brought in our normal video production equipment along with projectors, plasma screen, and sound system to help make sure everyone in the auditorium and cafeteria could see and here the performances as well as the announcements between the competing groups.
Two schools were unable to attend the Friday evening middle school competition due to snow. But that didn’t keep the staff and volunteers from Dutch Masters from putting on a good show.
One of Nepo Productions’ editors, Matt, just finished a project for the Linn-Mar Varsity Poms. Matt created a 25 minute video that was shown at their banquet on Sunday.
Another successful weekend for the Nepo Productions crew. This time we were at Benton Community High School for their Touch of Class show choir competition. Schools from Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska traveled to Van Horne Iowa to compete in the competition. A total of 20 show choirs performed plus the three exhibition performances by Benton Community’s own Illusions, Jubilation, Inc., and Celebration Co.
